Images of Seron

In 2004, I began renovating a tiny village house in the "Pueblo Blanco" of Seron, in Almeria, Spain.

Seron is probably best-known today for it's famous Serrano ham industry, however, the village and surrounding area has a history that charts from the time of the Phoenicians.

Agriculture and mining provided the wealth and industry for the area from then, through the Greek, Roman and Moorish periods. Although iron ore mining ended in 1968, visitors to the area can still see the original buildings, which have been restored.

Here, you'll see

  • a view of the village from the Castillo, a medieval castle that dominates the town, and
  • a view of the castle itself.
